45 Tips for a Happy Marriage

We just celebrated our 24 wedding anniversary and have spent more than 25 years since we started to see us. We believe very fortunate to enjoy a great relationship and remain in love. Given that we are so different from each other in many ways and rarely agree on anything, often we wonder what has kept us so happy together. This is a couple of things.

We understand and accept the fact that everyone is different, each one has its strengths and weaknesses. Do not try to change each other. We chose to focus on the strengths and weaknesses to accept – unless you need help and encouragement in overcoming some weakness. We have come to understand that being in love is not enough for a happy marriage. Happy partners choose to be happy and do things a certain way. We have been following a certain unwritten code of conduct on how we treat each other and how we deal with our differences.

Communication is the key. Like any other relationship, good communication is the key to a happy marriage. You do not need a degree in communications, is primarily common sense. It's OK to argue, but you must follow certain rules. Some tips to improve communication with your partner:

Be honest.
Talk to them often.
Listen when the other is speaking.
Express any concern quickly.
Praise them often rarely criticize.
Never criticize in public.
Never scream.
Never make mistakes of the past.
Never use the word "always" and "never" in the arguments.
Do not go to bed with an argument unresolved.
Saying "I love you" often … and seriously.
Be quick to say 'sorry'.
Forgive and forget quickly.
Never keep secrets of the two.
Keep your marriage laws.

What happened to romance? Remember the first time began to see each other? You used to wear makeup, put on your best self, shake hands, and things to do to please her partner. Why does it have to be different after a few years? Keeping romance alive is an essential part of being happy with your partner. Some tips for non-romantic:

Talk about your dreams, goals and ambitions.
Massaging the feet and back massage when your partner is tired.
Call during the day.
Turn off your iPhone or Blackberry, while on a date together.
Make it your own, once in a while.
Beware of bad breath and body odor.
Respond promptly to requests from your partner.
Pray for each other … every day of the heart.
Do not start to share their problems as soon as your partner appears after work
Keep your photo in your portfolio, or as the wallpaper on your phone.
Take a walk together.
Accept it's annoying 'habits. Do not nag
Do not offer advice unless asked.
Hug.
Be prepared to sacrifice their interests and preferences for the sake of your partner.
