Is there any way to install a stripper pole with a suspended ceiling?
I have a SuperPole I want to install in my new apartment, but the ceilings are stucco and it seems like there is a half-inch gap between the “real” ceiling and the wood above it. When you push up on the ceiling, it seems to move up a bit. My studfinder gets positive readings, but there are no actual studs. The only real wooden ceilings seems to be my outdoor patio, and I’m relunctant to do that for obvious reasons. This isn’t some little thin Lil’Minx or Carmen Electra pole.. I intend to do all sorts of inverts and advanced moves and I need it to hold my body weight (115lbs). I am so frustrated. Is there any safe alternative? I’m willing to spend extra.
You could try installing it firmly attached to the ground, ie not having it attached to the ceiling. You would have to reinforce the ground attachment though.
I would speak to a joiner or simliar and get their opinion.
In such a case the pole may need some sort of internal extra support.
If you just want to purchase something try a dance pole podium this has a pole with a heavy base and required no ceiling attachment (see links)
Prices seem to be about £500 however as i was speaking before you may be able to do similar with out one or even make one for less (though how is another matter)
