How to accessorize a black strapless dress in the winter?
My boyfriend is taking me out to a “nice” restaurant for valentines day. He has told me that I MUST wear a dress. I do not have a very extensive wardrobe but I do have a long (cut on an angle below the knees) fitted strapless black dress that I have worn to a few weddings. I’m worried that I am going to be overdressed and my boyfriend will not give me any more details about the place, other than it is a “nice” restaurant. Seeing as it is winter, I’m wondering how I should accessorize the dress. I don’t own any closed toe pumps because they NEVER fit me right. Is it acceptable to wear black open toe or strappy shoes (with just a strap in the back) to a “nice” dinner in the winter time? Also, is it acceptable if my jacket only goes to above my knee but my dress is cut on an angle below my knee? Lastly, are open-shoulders acceptable or should I wear something over top of the dress? If yes, what should I wear? A cardigan? I feel as if a shawl will make my outfit even more formal. Help!
i would go with either silver or red jewelry, nothing cheesy looking though. with some silver stilettos.
