Red Go Go Boots
How has your personal style changed as you’ve gotten older?
When I was in college, I loved experimenting with different styles and colors (my favorite outfit was this bright yellow pantsuit with a red shaker sweater and red boots; I also wore Converse high tops–usually hot pink–with a skirt and sweater). Now that I’m almost 40 and have kids, I’m so much more conservative. I still have an eye for unusual color combinations and would love to experiment, but now I’m hesitant because I don’t want to embarrass my husband (the kids aren’t old enough to care yet….).
Anyone else go through changes in style like this?
And yes, I know I shouldn’t care what other people think. I’ve been through THAT whole stage already–that’s why I experimented so much in college, breaking away from my shy high school girl image.
Yes. I used to dress with a great deal of personal style, and now… Well, I have none anymore. It’s called being a mom. I wear jeans, t-shirts, and sneakers almost every day.
Maybe in a couple of years I can get back to dressing better, but for now it’s just not a priority.
