Removable Pole
pole dancing…what pole?
I am looking to get a pole to use at home. I’m a little scared about the safety though, like it coming undone and me falling to my death…lol. Can anybody tell me from personal experience which pole they like and why? Are they static, spinning, removable, etc. Can I put any poles in my basement which has a concrete floor? thank you!
I wouldn’t trust any pole other than lil mynx or x-pole. The studio that I trained in had permanent lil mynx poles but sold removable x-poles because they didn’t like the stability of the removable mynx’s. It’s true that it will cost you around $300 but it’s completely worth the money. I’ve had my x-pole for over two years now and I’ve taught on it for about a year now. It holds up really well, tears down and goes back up in about 10 mins, comes in a great carrying case, has both spinning and static mode, and looks great.
Please please please don’t buy any pole from an adult novelty shop. The carmen electra pole is made by the same company that makes the peekaboo pole and their site clearly states that their poles are not intended to support your full weight. One of my students was given an electra pole as a gift from friends. She only weight about 120lbs but once she started learning more from me and started doing more advanced moves… her pole BROKE. And she’s super skinny!
Please also don’t buy any pole off ebay. Another of my students bought a pole from ebay claiming that it was an x-pole. Once she had it and tried to set it up, she realized it didn’t come with tools. So she borrowed mine. They didn’t fit. She called the company and we found out that her pole was not only fake, it was made of unsafe materials.
