Are vintage Fisher Price toys safe for 1 year old?
My daughter loves the vintage Fisher Price toys at our church. I recently 1972 bought a toy, which sometimes puts in his mouth. Are these old toys pose a threat to her health? Do they contain the lead paint, etc? I would like know with certainty to be safe! Done some research online, but there is not much information. Any response would be appreciated!
No, and "maybe." Not if you have opened and closed, but not any limitations on the 70th on the use of lead paint I would say no unless the toy is vinyl and plastic does not. Maybe never if the toy is new and has opened due to the large amount of metal used in the 70s and these parts are oxidized and can never be clean thoroughly enough to these toys without exposed metal I would say no. It's not really a good option. We have two children aged 10 + 13 and have never let them have pre 90's Fisher-Price Price due to the "invisible" dangers.
