What is the barrel cover made?
The JackRabbit Full Metal is manufactured of heavy gauge extruded aluminum panels with a textured black finish powder coating for added strength and durability that are fastened with a patented silicone hinge seal.
Will the bed cover to keep the truck bed dry? What about ice and snow?
The Bedlocker is designed so that the water collected at the top takes the can in front of the truck bed. Drainage tubes at the base of the can then take the water out of the truck.
Water can not pass through the silicone hinge sealed top. However, water can get into the bed via components that are not part of the roof as the tailgate and pockets game. These components require proper sealing during installation. Pace Edwards does not claim that their covers are 100% waterproof. Be very cautious if a manufacturer says that their retractable cover is 100% waterproof.
The snow must be swept from the deck of the barrel with a broom before operating, otherwise you end up with a bed full of snow. Ice can be removed by the adoption of the hand (and only the hand) and hitting the deck as close to the average of the possible. This cause a vibration in the cover that breaks the ice, which is easy to remove. Do not use anything but your hand for this.
Is the bed retractable hard top install? How long will the installation?
Installation is easy. All pieces are a match exact his truck – no cutting necessary! JackRabbit covers are installed with our patented SpeedClamp ™ system on most applications.
Installation should take 15 minutes for the professional and less than 30 minutes for a first time installer.
How does the Full Metal JackRabbit lock?
The Full-Metal JackRabbit locks with a key off the driver's side near the tailgate. The key turns arms that lock into the side rails mounted on the sides of the truck bed. The Full Metal JackRabbit can be put in place in intervals of 12 inches along the truck bed.
Does cover improve my gas mileage? How?
Studies show a substantial improvement in gas mileage each time the bed of a truck is covered. Input from customers and our own experience confirms the correctness of this statement.
You will work with my regular shirt cash?
The rails on our cover are designed to fasten directly on the sill of the truck bed. If you have a bedliner that covers the threshold, the amendment will be necessary. Most platform covered under the rail are more easily fitted with our cover, but also may need to change around the front corners. See image below.
Is there a guarantee for the Full Metal JackRabbit?
Yes, there is a default factory warranty of three years in all parts.
