Thong Swimwear
Remember the wearing of thong leotards over lycra shorts was popular back in the 80s and early 90s?
Did *anyone* think they were a good idea? Now, thong underwear and swimwear, fine. But lycra shorts and then a thong leotard on top? Why??
P.S. Am I right in remembering the time period? I seem to remember still seeing them occasionally when I went to college in ’98.
Oh, I defintiely remember seeing them when I was a little kid. & I remember my mom telling me about how awful they were!
I’m guessing that someone experimented with it and liked it. So it started to “grow” on other people, and thankfully it died out.
I don’t think anyone thinks there a good idea…thats why they’ve never come back!
A lot of the patterns and styles from the 80s have returned, but not that one! I’m sure there’s a reason.
